Guest Blog: Being a Hands On Therapist Through Therapy and Massage
Hello Practically Perfect friends!
If you know our practice, you know we’re very hands on. We may not be like other physical therapy clinics you’ve visited in that we see our patients one on one and use our manual skills to help our clients with things like limited mobility and pain.
Jessica’ Soltys is a Stockton University graduate. Jessica is a very experienced therapist working in multiple settings in multiple roles. She is a busy working wife and mom of three. She has been such a lovely addition to our practice with her years of knowledge and talent. If you have not made it in to see Jessica, put it on the top of your to do list if your body is feeling out of balance!
Jessica shares:
Hi all! I am excited to have the opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Jessica Soltys, and I have been a physical therapist for 22 years. I am also a certified manual therapist and massage therapist!
My first interest in manual therapies and massage came when I was a newly graduated physical therapist and I met my first “manual therapist” in the clinic. I began to see the great results this therapist was having with his patients, and recognized how having a deeper knowledge of anatomy blended with intuition could allow a physical therapist to use their hands to heal. I was hooked. I thought, “That is what I want to be!” So I set off on my quest to improve my knowledge base, taking courses and learning all things “hands on” to help my patients. Eventually, I flew off to Michigan and took part in four days of testing to put the title behind my name as a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist.
As time went on, I wanted to branch out from strictly rehabilitative care to wellness, and this led me to become a licensed massage therapist. Helping heal with my hands is something I am passionate about. It is so rewarding to help people decrease their pain, alleviate stress, and help people get back to the activities they love! Along with seeing patients at Practically Perfect Physical Therapy, I am also now seeing massage clients at Mind Body Kinected, LLC. I believe I have a unique set of skills as a physical therapist, certified integrated manual therapist, and massage therapist that allows me to work with a population of people with complex medical issues that require a specialized touch. My background gives me a deeper understanding of anatomical dysfunction that helps target pain more precisely. My unique perspective is well suited to both the rehabilitative and wellness model of care.
As a massage therapist, I can care for you without the constraints of an insurance based model, which allows you to truly experience the healing benefits that massage and manual therapy can offer. I look forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at (609) 966-9953 or by email at mindbodykinected@gmail.com. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
We are so grateful to have Jessica on our team to be able to offer holistic wellness options to our clients in the office or in their homes!
Perfectly Yours,
The Practically Perfect Team
